Restorative Dentistry

Restoring Smiles in Orange County

It’s rare that someone won’t need some type of dental restoration in his or her life. At Dental Arts of Orange County, we’ll treat cavities and other problems with up-to-date technology, with an emphasis on pain-free treatment. Dr. B has experienced painful dentistry herself, and is determined that her patients’ treatments will be gentle and comfortable.

Fillings

All cavities are filled using a metal- and mercury-free, tooth-colored resin. No one will know you have a cavity except you!

Porcelain Inlays/Onlays

When most of your tooth needs restoration and reinforcement, we use porcelain inlays to cover the tooth up to the cusps (points) and onlays to cover one or more of the cusps.

Crowns

A crown is a cap, often made of porcelain, that covers a tooth completely. It’s generally necessary after root canal treatment, or for any tooth that needs the protection and reinforcement that a crown provides.

Bridges

A bridge is a false tooth set between two crowns. It’s used to replace a missing tooth, and the crowns are fixed to the adjacent teeth. Both crowns and bridges may be porcelain, or porcelain fused to metal, depending on the individual case.

Partial/Full Dentures

Dentures are one option to replace missing teeth. We fit partial and full dentures in-house when several or all of your teeth have been lost.

Root Canals

When the nerve tissues inside your root canals become diseased or die, the tissue and any remaining infection must be removed and the canals filled to replace the nerve tissue. We perform root canal treatment in our office, making sure that your therapy will be as comfortable and pain-free as possible.

Pain-Free Dentistry

Dr. B’s own experience with painful dentistry has made her exceptionally concerned with keeping her patients relaxed, comfortable, and free of pain. Instead of drills, she uses air abrasion. A soft-tissue laser removes gum tissue with minimal discomfort. We use nitrous oxide and pain-free injections so that even receiving anesthesia will not be unpleasant.

Dental Implants/Mini Implants

Dental implants replace lost teeth with a surgically placed post topped with a porcelain crown. Mini implants have a smaller diameter than regular implants and are used to stabilize and secure dentures. Implants at Dental Arts of Orange County are placed by a specialist, Dr. Tucker, who comes into our office for patients needing implants. Dr. Batorfalvy then creates the crowns that go on top of full-size implants. Read more about dental implants.

Full Mouth Restorations

Accidents, disease, heredity, or poor dental care can create a smile where every tooth will need some form of restoration. It could be one, several, or all of the restorative treatments we’ve discussed here. Dr. B will take your needs, preferences, and personal lifestyle into consideration when planning any treatment, especially extensive work such as full mouth restoration. Each step and option will be discussed with you so you have the information you need to decide which treatment is best for you.
