Preventive Care to Keep Orange Smiles Healthy

Just like frequent oil changes help keep your car in good shape and prevent costly repairs, regular dental checkups and preventive care keep your teeth and gums healthy, and help prevent the need for more extensive dental care.

Comprehensive Exams

We help you prevent cavities and gum disease with detailed and thorough exams. We use intraoral cameras, no larger than a pen, to get a close look at every single tooth. Our treatment rooms are all computerized, so you can look too! We take digital x-rays and panoramic film images for comprehensive views of your teeth, and their position in your mouth. Oral cancer screens are done at every exam and are an important reason for regular checkups.

Hygiene

We use the Cavitron ultrasonic wave technology to clear stains, tartar and plaque above and below the gum line. If we find any evidence of gum disease, we use a sonic scaler to remove calculus (hardened dental plaque) from the crown and root surfaces of the teeth. Calculus is known to cause inflammation of the gums, a sign of gum disease. If we find gum disease, we can also treat it with a topical antibiotic, Arestin.

Mouthguards

We fit custom mouthguards that can help prevent sports injuries as well as stop tooth grinding and clenching.
